July 2008 Newsletter

Hi Everyone! Esther has asked for someone to take over the newsletter and I have volunteered to try doing it. I didn't do very good to start with though because I forgot to take notes at the meeting of times and dates but with help I think I've got it correct. But if I get anything wrong please forgive me, just let me know and I'll do my best to fix it.

We had a great meeting this month and got a lot taken care of. After the meeting several of us went to visit Darrell and Janet at the Lake Chague Campground, they both are looking great. They have a fantastic view of the lake from their front porch! Please keep them in your prayers.

The next family ride will be at Tuni Gap on July 19th, ride out at 11AM. Barbara Crose has volunteered to meet anyone that doesn't know the way at the Ingles, in Hayesville, at 10 AM. There is water at the lunch area but you should bring some for after the ride at the trailer for your horse and don't forget to bring plenty of water and lunch for yourself.

The family ride for August was discussed and will be at Buck Bald, in Tenn., on August 16th, meet at the Grizzly Bear Gas Station/Restuarant at 11AM. Randall Parker will be having breakfast there and say's the food is great! and to come early if you would like to have breakfast. The Grizzly Bear is located at the junction of 19/129 and 64 by Deckers Flea Market.

A Motion was made and passed, to reimburse the families of the two girls, Amber Swope and Sage Martus, that went to the 3 day 4-H Horse Clinic in Asheville, for their tuition of $125.00 for each. The Club has a fund for this and somehow it got overlooked this year. The girls will be doing a report at next month's meeting of what they learned.

Kim at Florel Farms has allowed us to hold our Fun Show there. The date of Oct. 18th was agreed on, anyone that would like to volunteer please get in touch with Barbara Kissling.

The items from the St. Jude's Ride should be available to pass out at the next meeting, we're waiting on the list to come back to us so that we know who get's what items and sizes.

Donna Gains has ticket's for "Free" admission to the Dennis Reis "No Dust Tour" Oct 11 and 12, in Cookville, TN. Anyone interested in getting together a group to go see him get in touch with Donna.

The next meeting will be at the United Community Bank on August 14, hope to see you there.

Happy Trails, Wildestreak.
